Next College Warden appointed

The College Chairman and Board have pleasure in announcing the appointment of Neil Walker as the eighth Warden of St George’s College. Neil will commence the role on 13 January 2025.

Neil is currently the Director of Teaching and Learning at Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Perth. He has held this role within the School Leadership Team for the last four years, having previously been the Head of English at Christ Church Grammar School.

Neil studied Classics and English Literature at Trinity College, Oxford University, achieving a Master of Arts Degree in English and Classics with joint honours. He also received a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Oxford University.

Neil has had an extensive and successful career in education in the United Kingdom and Western Australia, involving, in more recent years, strategic and financial responsibilities as well as engagement with School Council, the whole school community, and education authorities.

Neil has emphasised his belief in the value of a varied educational experience in producing resilient, critical thinkers who can play a significant beneficial role in society. This is consonant with the objectives of the College. Neil has considerable music and drama experience and capability, which aligns with the College’s cultural goals.

Neil’s wife, Helen, is currently the Head of Science at St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls. Her father is Georgian Peter Trend (1968) and her aunt is Georgian Suzi Janzs (Trend 1983). Helen and Neil have two children.

We look forward to welcoming Neil and his family to the College and to a successful time here.
