Meet our student-run a cappella choirs brimming with enthusiastic energy. These groups add a charmingly authentic touch to the choral spectrum, reminding us that professional performances can be found in young students.

The Newby Blues

  • Formed at St George’s College in 2012

  • The Newby Blues began as a group of 8 men that wanted to get together and have a sing and put on a bit of a show as a hobby in their free time.

  • The group has seen over 60 members come and go from multiple universities and colleges

The Mockingbirds

  • Founded in 2013 as the Girl's Ensemble and rebranded in 2015,

  • The Mockingbirds are a women’s A Capella group based at St Georges College.

  • They perform repertoire predominantly written and performed by women, ranging from The Weather Girls to Billie Eilish to ABBA!
