Summer Serenade

Date: Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 January

25 & 25 Jan | Dunsborough

Venue: St George’s Family Centre

Time: 2:00pm

Across two summer afternoons in January, Summer Serenade presents an intimate recital of Romantic song and opera, tracing themes of love, longing and lyrical storytelling with two chances to hear the programme, on the 24th and 25th of January.

The program brings together a rich selection of Lieder and arias by Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert, Gustav Mahler, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Charles Gounod and their contemporaries, ranging from tender art songs to well-loved operatic moments. Intimate solo works sit alongside expressive duets and arias drawn from the operatic stage, offering contrast, warmth and drama in equal measure.

Audience favourite Caitlin Forrest returns to the stage alongside pianist Lydia Lai, joined by College Resident Tiani Glasgow. Together, they shape a program that highlights the emotional immediacy of the Romantic repertoire, where text and music intertwine to tell deeply human stories.

Set in the picturesque surrounds of the St George’s Family Centre in Dunsborough, Summer Serenade offers a relaxed afternoon of expressive music, reflective moments and shared musical storytelling.
