About The Program

Vision

The Music Program at St George’s College is a resident centred program that enables the whole Georgian community to belong and participate through diverse musical experiences, honouring the College’s culture and traditions.

Through mentorship and partnerships across Western Australia’s music community, the program cultivates artistic excellence and creates opportunities for resident musicians to engage with and benefit from emerging and professional artists, strong alumni connections and the College’s engagement with its wider community.

Residents

The Music Program gives residents opportunities to participate, perform and collaborate throughout the year.

College Residents have opportunities to participate through ensembles, informal performances, concert support or simply by being part of an audience. Together, these experiences help make music a visible and valued part of College life.

Mentorship

Through the College’s Music Staff, Fellows and visiting artists, residents have opportunities to learn from experienced professional musicians.

This mentorship takes many forms, including chamber coaching, rehearsals, performance projects, regional concerts and informal artistic guidance. These connections help residents develop confidence, musicianship and a deeper understanding of performance.

Concerts

From intimate chamber music concerts to large-scale outdoor performances in the Quadrangle, the program brings together residents, professional artists and audiences from across the wider community.

Chamber music projects give residents opportunities to work closely with experienced musicians in collaborative ensemble settings, while major public events such as Christmas in the Quad create shared musical experiences within one of the College’s most distinctive spaces.

Together, these performances reflect the College’s commitment to artistic excellence, mentorship and community engagement through live music.

Music Fellows

The Music Fellows Program brings distinguished professional musicians into the life of the College.

Music Fellows contribute through performance, mentorship, chamber music, regional projects and artistic leadership. Their presence creates valuable connections between emerging musicians and established artists, strengthening the musical culture of the College.

Resident Ensembles
