Artists
Krista Low | viole
Krista Low is a versatile performer with a strong focus on historically informed performance across Baroque, contemporary and chamber music repertoire. A graduate of the University of Western Australia, she performs regularly as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician on Baroque and modern cello, as well as viola da gamba.
Since graduating from studies at the University of Western Australia, Krista Low has pursued a varied career in historically informed performance, contemporary music and everything in between.

As an undergraduate, she was awarded the Pauline Steele Memorial Prize for Solo Cello, the Margaret Bello Prize for Chamber Music and a Wesley Mission Scholarship. She subsequently received a University Postgraduate Award to undertake a Masters in Music at UWA under the supervision of Dr Suzanne Wijsman.
Krista has participated in masterclasses and festivals in Canada, France and the Netherlands and appears frequently as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician on both Baroque and modern cello, and viola da gamba. She is a founding member of the Perth-based ensemble, HIP Company.
Matt Jones | théorbe
Australian lutenist Matt Jones completed a Master of Music in Lute Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2002. After returning to Perth in 2019, following two decades based in London and Berlin, he continues to perform and teach across a wide range of early music and cross-disciplinary projects.
During his time in Europe, Matt performed with ensembles including Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, The King's Consort, Freiburger Barockorchester and Capella Vitalis Berlin. He has appeared at festivals including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Batignano Opera Festival and productions with Ionian University.

Matt has collaborated with singers including Anna Prohaska, Valer Sabadus and Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli, as well as chamber musicians including Nadia Zwiener, Magnus Andersson and Mira Lange. Alongside solo recital work, his practice has extended into contemporary music, popular and traditional musics, and collaborations with historical and contemporary dance.
Matt is currently undertaking PhD research at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and teaches lute and theorbo at the University of Western Australia.
